Public Housing

The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville owns and maintains 455 apartments at 9 different complexes within the city.  The complexes include Pennyrile Homes, Dr. B.O. Moore Court, Eastside Terrace, Pennyrile Village, Riverfront Village, James O. Waddell Village, Dr. P.C. Brooks Village, Rozelle Leavell Village and Ira E. Owens Jr. Homes.  We have units available in efficiency size (0), 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedrooms.  However, we do have a waiting list for each size unit.

Rent is based on the entire household's income.  As a general rule, rent in Public Housing will not exceed 1/3 of your monthly gross income.  A security deposit is required before moving into an apartment, and the amount is determined by the size of the unit.
